Privte to public space

There is a little theme going on at the moment around 'connectedness' and turning private spaces into public spaces to create and foster communities....here is a great example from PSFK...check out the link

"In a new approach to private space, LOHA Architects designed an eleven unit housing project in West Hollywood that emphasizes the need for a central, communal space for both the residents as well as the community at large. Instead of creating an internal courtyard that only residents could enjoy, the building is surrounded by a park that is operated by the city and will be open to the public.

The plan is to continue devloping buildings and leasing the park areas to the city - ultimately creating a network of “pocket parks” throughout the city."
