Illustration of how social movements work?

This video has been making a fair bit of noise in the marketing blogoshphere....I like how it starts off with one weird guy being silly, then two people looking a bit awkward, then (as Seth Godin points out) the 3rd guy is the tipping point...he makes the situation funny and contagious. It appears at this point other people decide to participate...and then BAM...everyone wants in!

Here is some commentary from science blogs:

"This dance worked the same way. At a certain point, the group of awkward dancers becomes undeniable - they can no longer be ignored. And that is when the contagion begins. Once we start to wonder whether the dance is fun - or what that cluster of people is looking at - then it's only a matter of time before we too start to dance. Jane Jacobs, in other words, was right: "Life attracts life"
